India's natural

district, Corbett National Park is the place from where Project
Tiger was launched in 1973. Gir is the only home in India of the
Lion of which there are nearly 300 in the park. The Gir national
park lies in the Gujarat peninsula in SW India. The lush sal and
bamboo forests, grassy meadows and ravines of Kanha provided
inspiration to Rudyard Kipling for his famous novel "Jungle Book".
Situated within the confines of the Western Ghats in the southern
Indian state of Kerala, Periyar National Park and Tiger Reserve is
one of the most captivating wildlife parks in the world.
